These pictures were previously made public:
Voiced by Ian Holm, “SKINNER”
The head chef of Gusteau’s is Skinner, whose diminutive physical appearance betrays a commanding, even vicious disposition. When the legendary chef passed away without leaving a will, Skinner, who had previously served as Gusteau’s sous-chef, took over the restaurant and business. Skinner then started to slyly capitalise on Gusteau’s fame by creating a wide range of products bearing the Gusteau name, ranging from frozen burritos to pizza. He turned the eatery, which was once a temple of culinary creativity, into a lucrative but soulless machine for serving up expensive meals.
Voiced by Brad Garrett, GUSTEAU
Anyone Can Cook, the cookbook that gave Remy the idea to want to be a chef, was written by the late Auguste Gusteau, the greatest French chef of all time. Gusteau’s inventive vision and skillful execution, which both honoured and played with French culinary traditions, helped his restaurant in Paris, France, become a landmark. Gusteau unexpectedly passed away soon after his restaurant was given four instead of five stars (by Monsieur Ego), but his legacy lives on in his recipes and Remy’s imagination, where the brilliant chef frequently appears as Remy’s counsellor and soul mate.
Voiced by Janeane Garofalo in COLETTE
At Gusteau’s, Colette is the sole female cook and the roughest in the kitchen. She has come a long way because to her tenacity, talent, and intimidating demeanour, but years of career advancement in the predominately male world of haute cuisine have left her distrustful and self-contained. She initially feels frustrated about having to “babysit” Linguini while he starts his internship as a chef. But as time goes on, she starts to warm to Linguini’s guilelessness and fragility.
Voiced by Peter O’Toole as EGO
The most influential culinary reviewer in Paris, Anton Ego, has the potential to make or break a restaurant with a single review. Even the most complacently successful of culinary celebrities is terrified by the sight of his grim, colourless, and unsmiling visage. Chefs are so fearful about disappointing people now.
No one dares alter a menu without “The Grim Eater,” as he is referred to, approval. Over time, Ego has grown accustomed to this power and now sees it as his rightful inheritance.
Voiced by Peter Sohn, EMILE
The rat’s rat Emile, Remy’s brother, is a lover of life and all things edible and inedible. He is a little overweight and good-natured. Although he doesn’t always appreciate his brother’s fascination with excellent cuisine, he is always willing to help Remy on one of his crazy missions or lift his spirits when he is down. The ideal recipient of Remy’s culinary creations due to his insatiable and grateful hunger.
Voiced by Brian Dennehy in DJANGO
The chieftain of the rat family is Remy’s father, Django. Django is annoyed by his oldest son Remy’s pickiness and refusal to consume perfectly fine garbage since he expects Remy to one day assume the duties of caring for and leading the larger rat family. Django believes that “people = death” and that Remy has no business loitering in or even working in a restaurant kitchen. Not even a possibility.
On June 29, 2007, Brad Bird’s Ratatouille premieres in theatres.
