Jordan Peele’s ‘Nope’ Poster Tells Us Nothing About The Movie, But We’re Going To Speculate Wildly Anyway

A cunning fox, Today, Jordan Peele took to social media to share the poster and title of his upcoming film, Nope. This is Peele’s third picture, and it’s another horror movie from the Get Out and Us director. And that’s really all we know right now! Although the movie stars Keke Palmer, Daniel Kaluuya, and Steven Yeun, we presently don’t know what the plot of Nope is. That’s not unusual; prior to the release of the movie, most of the information about Uswas kept under wraps.

But at /Film, we’re dedicated to exhaustively, nerdily examining things before making irrational assumptions, dang it! So I’m going to carefully examine theNopeposter to try and understand what’s going on. I’ll try even though I know I’ll fail, I swear to you.

Here is the poster, first things first.

mightyNopeposter, oh my! What are your secrets? I’m going to offer BLANK theories about what Nopeis about based on this poster. One of these hypotheses might be accurate. Or perhaps everyone is mistaken. As much as I’d like to, folks, I can’t predict the future.

Nope is Some Sort of Big Spectacle-Filled Blockbuster

The scale of Jordan Peele’s films isn’t extremely large, despite the fact that both of them have been massive hits. They are not conventional blockbusters or extravaganza movies. However, Nopemay be about to alter that. The bottom of this poster shows which portions of Nope were shot in IMAX. Things captured in IMAX typically allude to expansive scenes. Is Peele prepared to boost the ante and provide us with terrifying scenes that rely heavily on special effects? Maybe!

    Nope is About Aliens

The “huge spectacle-filled” movie notion would really work with this theory, but I need to make sure this story has more than one possibility, so just go with it. This poster features a lot of expansive, open sky with a menacing-looking cloud in the middle of it all. However, is it actually a cloud? Something is definitely wrong because the cloud is trailing a line of pennant flags. Is Peele producing a movie about an alien invasion, and is this cloud really a UFO? Definitely, this has definite Close Encounters of the Third Kind overtones.

    Nope is About a Carnival

Other than “Oh, hell yeah!” I assumed the movie involved some type of circus when I initially saw the poster. In my view, the combination of the pennant flags and the lights on the ground just read “carnival.” However, the more I observed it, the more I came to the conclusion that whatever was on the ground there was too large to be a carnival. However, what if it’s not? If it’s not a carnival, it’s probably some kind of remote mountain town, which, I suppose, makes more sense than a remote mountain carnival. But how frickin’ weird would it be to stumble into a remote mountain carnival? The response is very creepy.

The July 22, 2022 release of Nope, starring Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira, and Brandon Perea.
