Juno Temple joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises months ago in the unnamed position of “a street-smart Gotham girl.” Naturally, this instantly sparked questions about who Temple would actually be portraying as Robin in the Frank Miller version of the story. Holly Robinson, the sidekick of Catwoman? Is Harley Quinn? a totally different character? However, no one who was actually working on the production was speaking.
An article from a recent magazine that appears to put the allegations to rest may have just surfaced. Click here to continue reading.
Then there’s the big one-The Dark Knight Rises, where Temple plays “street smart Gotham gal” Holly Robinson. Speculation has it that her Holly is the young prostitute first seen in Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One, and that she may be the sidekick to Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman.
For her part, Temple claims:
I can’t talk about that. But I think it’s going to be [frick]ing unbelievable. [Nolan] is awesome! There’s something really gentlemanly about him. He’s got an insane, incredible vision going on. Just getting the opportunity to work with him is awesome.
I hesitate to state that Temple playing Holly Robinson is a 100% certainty because it’s unclear who told Total Film that Temple will be playing Holly Robinson, and it doesn’t sound like Temple did. However, it does seem highly likely. Temple closely resembles Holly in both appearance and description, and because it is already known that Catwoman will play a significant part in the movie, it makes sense that Holly would also feature.
In Miller’s Batman: Year One, Holly initially appears as a character. She has also temporarily assumed the identity of Catwoman while residing with her friend and role model Selina Kyle. Here is an image from Wikipedia:
