Kevin Feige stated a few weeks ago that The Infinity Saga, a gigantic box set containing every single film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, would be released. This box set, which spans the years 2008 through 2019, compiles the whole epic first phase of Marvel Studios’ ground-breaking blockbuster franchise. Unfortunately, that means it will drain your bank account and possibly cause you to approach a loan shark. The cost and contents of The Infinity Sagabox set are listed below.
The Infinity Saga box set’s product page was published by Best Buy before a formal announcement was made:
Although there isn’t a formal product description to go along with it, the image above pretty much shows everything that will be there. First up are the 23 films, each uniquely packaged in new sleeves with the title treatments for the films and available on 4K UHD and Blu-ray. You’ll see the additional disc, which has never-before-seen deleted scenes, extended takes, and more that have been hidden in Marvel’s vault the entire time, that Kevin Feige previously hinted to.
Each movie’s sleeve has a piece of fresh artwork by Matt Ferguson on the spine. Along with a note from Kevin Feige, it is also presented in the box set as a single solid lithograph. We are unable to read the message, but we suppose it contains some sort of acknowledgement of the fans’ contributions and a thank-you for forgoing the opportunity to feed your children in order to purchase this box set of all the movies you probably already had.
Since this collection will reportedly be limited edition, the box set is also numbered. And that’s probably due to the outrageous price tag of $549.99. That’s $90 more than you would spend if you purchased each film separately for $20, which is roughly how much they would cost on ordinary Blu-ray. However, if you purchased them all in 4K UHD at an average cost of $25 each, you would really save $25 and receive additional bonuses.
I would have loved that they all come in an Infinity Gauntlet or something equally fantastic for that hefty price tag. It’s unfortunate that Marvel and Disney chose not to follow the same strategy as they did with the nice box set releases for each of the MCU’s first two phases. Perhaps they simply understand that not many customers are willing to part with $550 for movies they have already paid for.
The number of The Infinity Saga box sets being created is unknown as of yet, however Best Buy claims that they should ship on November 15. Stay tuned because we’re expected to hear an official announcement about this soon.
