Four magicians first appeared on the screen in the far past, in the year 2013. Although their pranks frequently erred into the area of the impossible, they weren’t exactly magical in the “Harry Potter” sense, but they did arouse a sense of pleasure and wonder. Despite receiving only tepid reviews from critics, “Now You See Me” was well received by moviegoers enough to spawn an even bigger, more magical sequel. And so the story goes on.
The movies centre on a group of magicians known as the “Four Horsemen, who act as society’s Robin Hoods by using their magician talents. Together, they carry out bank robberies and heists while giving concerts so that they can give their audiences money that has been taken from the wealthy. The crew is sent to Macau, China, where a cunning tech wizard exploits their powers for his own gain. In the first movie, an FBI agent and an Interpol detective try to track them down. A third film in the franchise has been announced since its 2016 release. Here is everything you need to know if you’re eager to experience more magic in your life!
What We Think Now You See Me 3 Will Be About
A good theft is loved by all. It never gets old to gather the forces, devise an impossible strategy, overcome many challenges, and somehow complete that structure. And “Now You See Me” added magic as an additional component to the preparation. Therefore, it is safe to assume that the third film will continue the last one’s theme of the Horsemen doing what they do best. The group will be aiming for yet another huge windfall and a deserving millionaire to put them in their place. As usual, they’ll steal a lot and triumph handsomely. However, the franchise’s creators had already hinted that things might change much more than we anticipate. Nathan Kahane, president of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, stated in the movie’s official announcement:
“The Now You See Me franchise has been built on keeping the audience surprised and guessing. Any great magician knows you can’t keep doing the same tricks. And Eric (Warren Singer) and his team of illusionists have something special up their sleeve for this new film.”
The second movie concluded with Mark Ruffalo’s Dylan guiding the Horsemen to the Eye, the covert organisation of magicians where they initially received their orders. As Kahane suggests, the third movie would likely focus more on the established secret society, the world of magicians, and how our four heroes fit into it. They may have outgrown their robbery days as they aim to blend in with the mystical world. The third movie is anticipated to further expand the setting and examine a fresh cast of individuals.
What We Know About The Cast of Now You See Me 3
Following the debut of the original movie’s sequel, “Now You See Me 3” was first confirmed in 2016. At the time, it was intended for the main cast to return in their original roles. This meant that Jesse Eisenberg would play the haughty illusionist Danny Atlas, Woody Harrelson would play the hypnotist Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco would play the expert in sleight of hand Jack Wilder, and Mark Ruffalo would play the gang’s leader Dylan Rhodes, a former FBI agent. Isla Fisher played escape artist Henley Reeves in the first movie as well, but because Fisher didn’t return, Lizzy Caplan was introduced as new member Lula May in the second.
While the cast may have been willing to return on the success of the sequel, time has gone, new projects have emerged, and the likelihood of their return is now less certain. According to reports, the third movie widens the world in a way that introduces new characters while giving the original cast members chances to make a comeback. Benedict Cumberbatch joined the cast of “Now You See Me 3” back in 2016, so if he’s still attached to the project, he might play one of the newly introduced magicians.
Who Will Write and Direct Now You See Me 3
The authors of “Now You See Me 3” were first chosen as Neil Widener and Gavin James, but little has been heard about the movie’s progress since. The Oscar-nominated screenwriter Eric Warren Singer, who wrote “American Hustle,” “Only The Brave,” and the upcoming “Top Gun: Maverick,” was just introduced by Lionsgate in 2020.” The production company announced a new direction for Singer and a whole new script. Nathan Kahane made the official announcement and said:
Eric has always been fascinated with the fine art of deception and illusion in all of its forms and he came to us with a great story that takes the mythology of Now You See Me and pushes The Four Horsemen to a whole new level with our key returning cast and new characters.”
When Will Now You See Me 3 Be Released?
This is, regrettably, still a mystery. The script for “Now You See Me 3” has been in development for the previous few years, but no release date has been specified. When “Now You See Me 2” was released in 2016, the third film in the franchise was initially teased.
