A new playset of the DeLorean time machine from “Back to the Future” was released by Playmobil last year. With figures, cars, and accessories based on “Back to the Future Part II,” they have since extended into the sequels. The advent calendar that was released before the holidays last year and included a cardboard diorama of the Hill Valley clock tower and a tonne of cool pieces to recreate some of the movie’s most memorable scenes was, however, one of the most entertaining Playmobil releases for the time-traveling franchise. Another advent calendar from Playmobil will be available this year, and it will be filled with memorabilia from “Back to the Future Part III.”

Sadly, Playmobil’s “Back to the Future Part III” advent calendar does not have a time-traveling train, but perhaps we can anticipate one in a future playset. We still have Marty McFly (a.k.a. “Clint Eastwood”) and Doc Brown in their Old West incarnations, as well as their foe in the form of Biff Tannen’s great-grandfather Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen. Clara Clayton, a nearby schoolteacher, appears in this playset as well. She is dressed in a purple dress and is accompanied by the terrier Copernicus. Though they are not featured, Jules and Verne, the children of Doc and Clara, are not to be sought after.

The advent calendar also comes with diorama parts that let you set up scenes from the film, which is great for collectors who want to show their “Back to the Future” memorabilia in a hip way. Despite being made of cardboard, they work. The vintage photograph Marty and Doc had shot in front of the enormous clock that is perched atop the clock tower served as the inspiration for a Playmobil-style collector’s postcard.

The fact that the “Back to the Future Part III” advent calendar includes extras that let you customise the DeLorean time machine toy in two different ways may be its best feature.

    Transform the DeLorean Time Machine

    Playmobil

You can start by replacing the stock DeLorean tyres with some of those vintage 1955 white-wall tyres. When Marty decides to use the time machine to travel to 1885 in order to save Doc Brown from being stranded in the Wild West, it is the only alternative. They’ll be sufficient to transport him to the past, but after the DeLorean’s fuel line is pierced by arrows, they won’t be particularly helpful. For the DeLorean, a different set of “tyres” is therefore included.

Additionally, the “Back to the Future Part III” playset features the metal train wheel rims Marty and Doc attach to the DeLorean so they may utilise a locomotive to propel it up to 88 mph on the train tracks that run next to Hill Valley. The extra strap-on time circuit parts for the car’s hood are also available for both DeLorean models.

The “Back to the Future Part III” advent calendar from Playmobil has the following official product description, which is available for pre-order for $34.99:

Off to the Wild West with Marty McFly and Doc Brown! Including the characters from 1955 and 1885 as well as accessories to convert the DeLorean (item no. 70317 sold separately) for the next time travel. Bonus for real fans: exclusive diorama with four different movie locations plus collector’s postcard included.

For Back to the Future fans, this pre-Christmas season will be a real blast! With the brand-new “Back to the Future III” advent calendar, movie enthusiasts can reminisce and re-enact legendary scenes of the cult film series. This time, friends Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown are transported far back to the past to the year 1885, where they not only have to deal with the rough customs of the Wild West, but also with swashbuckler Buford Tannen. Of course, local schoolteacher, and later Doc’s girlfriend, Clara Clayton and terrier Copernicus may not be missing in this adventure. As a special extra, this unconventional advent calendar includes an exclusive diorama showing various movie locations and a cool collector’s postcard. In addition, the DeLorean (70317 sold separately) can be converted with the included accessories for the various time travels. With nostalgic flair and iconic details, this advent calendar brings not only PLAYMOBIL fans with full energy Back to the Future. The Wild West is waiting!
