One of the best-reviewed horror films in recent memory, The Babadook, directed by Jennifer Kent, features a pop-up book about the titular creature, who terrorises individuals after they learn of his presence. A second chance is being given to those who lost out on the first edition copies of that book, which were actually sold in a restricted quantity.
The Babadook pop-up book is being updated by Causeway Films and will only be accessible for the following two months. If you dare, continue reading to learn how to obtain one.
“You can’t get rid of the Babadook, whether it’s in a phrase or in a look.” That is the tagline that runs throughout the entire movie, and you can now have a copy of the Mister Babadook pop-up book on your shelf. However, this will cost you money, just like all the finer things in life: each second edition costs $100. (That price point might be a bit excessive if all you plan to do is burn the book in your backyard barbeque.)
Take a look at this Babadook book
This second edition book won’t be signed or numbered like the first edition, but it will still be produced “to the same high standards” as the first run and come with a second edition label, according to Australian production company Causeway Films. The hitch is that this updated edition of the book won’t be printed at all if they don’t receive at least 2,500 orders before September 1, 2019. In order to increase your chances of getting one, it might be a good idea to get in touch with all of your other Babadook-loving friends and advise they do the same. (If they fall short of their objective, you’ll get your money back.)
One more significant detail: The following nations are the only ones to which the book will be shipped:
Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom (UK), and United Nations (USA)
The company’s publisher will start printing the books once the submission deadline in September has passed, but shipping won’t happen until some time in 2020. On the official website, you can find all the supplementary information you might require. Good luck!
