You’re gradually increasing the number of pumpkin-flavored foods you eat each day, almost as if developing a bizarre immunity to some sort of gourd-based poison, when the leaves are dropping and the air is crisp. Fall is here, baby!
The creation of buck wild Halloween costumes has suddenly increased, one of the many autumnal indications. Fortunately, this isn’t 2004 and you don’t need to rely on a Spirit Halloween store that has appeared in the former Payless space of your local mall to find a truly outstanding costume; instead, you can use the internet today! And the internet has definitely delivered over this holiday season.
You might have missed the recent explosion in popularity of Hwang Dong-South hyuk’s Korean survival-horror series “Squid Game” if you recently went into a transient coma. The nine-episode series, according to Netflix’s upper management, is on track to become the most watched Netflix programme ever. With Halloween quickly approaching, costume companies aren’t sleeping on this overnight success. The fact that the show’s visual signatures are both instantly recognisable and somewhat simple at the same time doesn’t hurt either; this results in a costume that is both on trend and also relatively simple to make or even DIY at home.
DIY or Die
None of the “Squid Game” characters’ costumes are more iconic (or more comfortable) than their striped green tracksuits. Sweats purchased from the Amazon store range in price from $30 to $80. We’re going for it even though I have no understanding why some of them are more affordable than others since that level of confusion feels appropriate for the original material. I would recommend these bad boys ($26) and some white fabric iron-on numbers if you want to do a little DIY. Even using just some white duct tape might be a touch rough. I’m thinking about buying this stunning ladies’ version, which costs between $30 and $40. You can make some money if you wear it with some platform sneakers.
I’d like to imagine that if you turned up at a Halloween party dressed as a seductive “Squid Game” contestant, you’d instantly inspire dread and respect. You would triumph at the gathering.
You may even get one of those adorable (and enigmatic) red guard outfits if dressing up as a player isn’t your thing.
You could get this mask for $19 instead of the depressing one this vendor sells for $27 to $54, and then head to your neighbourhood thrift shop to find a bright pink jacket.
The Most Horrifying Squid Game Costume
There will always be one on hand, so you can be sure of that.
Variety’s proposal of red light, green light costumes even elevates the DIY “Squid Game” costumes to a new level. We urge you to commit the terrifying song that this animatronic figure sings to memory so you can genuinely terrify your loved ones. If a Halloween costume doesn’t cause at least one person to have nightmares, is it really a Halloween costume?
